The Anonymous Antagonist: Giveaway and other Fun Stuff

If you have not discovered The Anonymous Antagonist, the time has come.

Daniel is currently doing a series of interviews with young people interested in the arts. There are some very thought provoking questions.
Thinking through the answers is a good exercise...and trying to make the answers intelligible is an even better one. :-) I'm realizing more and more, that this is the best thing about blogging for me. Actually thinking through something enough to write it out in an understandable manner.

Consider my post for last week this interview.  Thank you, Daniel, for including me in this!

The Anonymous Antagonist is also having a very exciting giveaway which includes such awesomeness as Amazon giftcards, artwork, and books. Check it out.

I want to comment here because it's directed straight at you... but I might leave the same or similar comment on the interview itself as well.

I enjoyed your answers a lot. I rather agreed with a lot of what you said, even though I do not always enjoy the same kind of thing and many of the things you've listed I never read or saw - it gives me something to look for... But both me and my sister love Open Range (us both loving the same western is something that does not happen everyday), and it seems it's not everyone's favourite, so I was thrilled to see it on your list. (In fact, I read it twice to determine that yes, you're really talking about the same film I'm thinking you're talking about...)
I love your thoughts on heroes.
And I must re-read Orthodoxy. The last time I tried, I kept feeling there was something odd about the book, and then found out that the translator had left out some passages that he felt were "not relevant". Phew! That's not a good translating work in my book!

As for words - there is also that "little" matter of the world having been created through words... I cannot claim to understand theology, but it's certainly a thought-provoking connection. :-)

From your Interview, "Four well-loved authors never let me down and always leave me wanting to dance a merry but solemnly joyful jig: G. K. Chesterton, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Chaim Potok, and Dr. Leithart."
Hey! What about CS Lewis, where did I let you down? Or have you moved on to authors nearer the Source?

Hana,

Thanks for your comment.

Yes. "Open Range" is WONDERFUL. :-) I haven't watched too many westerns, but the ones I like fit on one hand and "Open Range" is MAJOR. :-)

How dare someone tamper with "Orthodoxy?" lol. :-)

Yes. Very good point about words. "Notes from the Tilt-a-Whirl" puts that aspect beautifully. Another MUST read, if you haven't. :-)

Leper Watchman,

C.S. Lewis is a genius and shall live forever...and I shall love him forever.
He just doesn't thrill my soul *quite* the same way. BUT I LOVE HIM!!!!! :-)
