Tearing

I'd heard this quote before, but I finally read it in context on Sunday.

....Where God tears great gaps we should not try to fill them with human words.

They should remain open.

Our only comfort is the God of the resurrection, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ...

~Dietrich Bonhoeffer

But really, I was going to comment because I love the quote. :)

Sooo, I have a road trip coming up - and I'm not driving. Would you reccomend reading those two books mentioned in your last post? "God Is Not Great" and "God Is"? I do enjoy theological works, and have read through (almost...) a book that is a written debate.

Thanks for the comments.

Bobbi Jo,

Photobucket is having unresolved issues so my background isn't working. :-P I changed to one of the basic ones until I can figure something else out. I can't remember how to do any of this template stuff.

Storyfingers,

A road trip where you get to read! That's the best. :-)

I actually haven't read all of "God is not Great" but what I have seen is interesting and humorous...if a little strong at times (and of course wrong). I'd certainly recommend studying the two books. I read the first portion of "God Is" on a roadtrip to Canada and the rest in one sitting at home.

I love reading theology type books that are written well. Debates are so interesting and there's a lot to learn from them.

Thanks for commenting.
